Driving to the Tvrdoš monastery, visiting the monastery and the cellar accompanied by a licensed tourist guide from the agency. The Tvrdoš Monastery is known for many things, first of all for its turbulent history, for its age, it dates back to the 4th century and is considered to be one of the oldest sacred buildings in this area. The famous wines from Tvrdoš are Tvrdoš and Žilavka.
After the tour, we continue our journey towards the birthplace of St. Vasilije - Mrkonjići. It is located on the eastern side of Popovo polje on the Trebinje-Ljubinje road. St. was born in this village on December 28, 1610. Vasilije Ostroški, baptized Stojan, from mother Anastasia and father Petar Jovanović. On the feast day of St. Basil of Tvrdoš and Ostroš the Miracle Worker, on May 12, 1998, a temple was built in the village of Mrkonjići. The temple was built on the foundations of the birthplace of the great God-pleaser and is located on the right side of the road when coming from the direction of Trebinje. On the left side of the road is the church of St. Nicholas, where the saint was baptized. Next to the temple is the cemetery where St. Anna, the mother of St. Basil, rests.
